02.09.2012 The Georgia House Proposes Funds to Improve Access to Farm Labor in 2012 Amended Budget
ATLANTA – State Representatives Jay Roberts (R-Ocilla) and Jimmy Pruett (R-Eastman) are working to make the local agricultural community aware of a new program included in the Fiscal Year 2012 Amended budget, as passed by the Georgia House of Representatives on Friday, February 3. The budget includes $75,000 in funding for the Georgia Department of Agriculture to create a program to assist those in the Georgia agricultural community obtain labor through the H-2a and H-1b federal employment programs.
01.27.2012 Representative Pruett Seeks Funds to Restore Lake at Little Ocmulgee State Park
ATLANTA – State Representative Jimmy Pruett (R-Eastman), a member of the House Budget Committee and the secretary of the Game, Fish, & Parks Committee, is currently seeking funds to restore the lake at Little Ocmulgee State Park in Helena, Ga. The 265 acre lake has incurred an overgrowth of aquatic vegetation, making it less attractive for tourists.
